First Tennis Memory: There’s a lot of memories that I have. Maybe first memory was… I was around five and I was playing baskets, like a coach was feeding me baskets. And I was hitting forehands and backhands.
Tennis Inspirations: Probably Roger. Novak. And Kyrgios [smiles].
Last Book Read: Can’t Hurt Me: Master Your Mind and Defy The Odds by David Goggins.
Current Car: I don’t drive, I need to get my license [smiles].
First Famous Player You Met Or Encountered: … WTA or ATP? (Both.) ATP…probably Grigor. I was around eight years old and he was at the club and he took a picture with me. WTA – it was Ana Ivanovic. She came to the tournament in Bulgaria.
Greatest Career Moment: …Probably winning against Lloyd Harris last year. Like best win that I’ve had.
Most Painful Moment: I don’t really think that there’s painful moments. There’s just bad matches, bad results. In tennis you cannot have painful moments.
Favorite Tournaments: Wimbledon, Australian Open, and, yeah, all the Grand Slams.
Best You Ever Felt On Court: Probably this year when I played semis in the Challenger in Italy (January vs Jay Clarke and September vs. Thiago Monteiro). In the quarters (January) I was playing, I was in the zone (76 46 63 vs. Evan Furness).
Funniest Player Encountered: Leonid Sheyngezikht. He’s from my country [smiles].
Funny Tennis Memory: All the team competitions are pretty funny.
Strangest Match: I had two matches that I was 61 51 down that I won. And then three months later I had 61 51 up and I lost. So I won one and I lost one from 61 51 [smiles].
Why Do You Love Tennis: Because it gives me like meaning. You have goals you want to achieve. You wake up in the morning with a goal.
Favorite Sport Outside Tennis: Soccer.
Favorite Athletes To Watch: I like to watch Messi. I think he’s pretty entertaining. And I watch NBA sometimes but I don’t really have a favorite. Maybe Steph Curry.
Favorite Artists: One of them is probably…no, not really.
Favorite Ice Cream Flavor: Vanilla.
People Qualities Most Admired: Loyalty. Like funny. Easy going. Disciplined.
