ATP Shuts Down For Six Weeks

The Association of Tennis Professionals has announced a six-week suspension of the men’s professional tennis tour due to concerns about health and safety issues related to the international outbreak of the Corona Virus, COVID-19. All ATP Tour and ATP Challenger Tour events scheduled up to and inclusive of the week of April 20 will not be contested including Indian Wells, Miami Open, Houston, Monte Carlo, Barcelona, Morocco and Budapest events. The Challenger circuit is also going dark, including the popular Sarasota Open which was relocated this year to a new venue in downtown Sarasota, in Payne Park.

If the virus is controlled, ATP action could hopefully resume the week of April 27 in Estoril and Munich.

Tallahassee Challenger also is scrapped. This is really going to hit the clay courters hard. At least now Rafa will be free to visit Washington DC in April with the King and Queen of Spain.

The best thing I have read on this corona virus…

“For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil,” – 1 Tim. 6:10a

    Coronavirus
Every year we have a flu season and many of us will catch the flu. It happens. Pretty much everyone has had the flu at least once in their life. You just deal with it. But this year the coronavirus, referring to two specific strains of flu, has become a media sensation. But the stats don’t bear out the amount of coverage given it.

As of a few days ago, there were about 80,0000 cases of coronavirus worldwide. 78,000 or so are in China and only 2,000 cases of coronavirus were in other countries. There have been 2,595 deaths in China, 23 in the rest of the world. Yet all flu in general will cause roughly 400,000 to 500,000 deaths worldwide this season.

So why are we so worried about a the people who have died from the coronavirus when hundreds of thousands die every year from the flu? Could this be a political fake news to stop a rolling economy?

If not political, then it’s about money. Again, just follow the dollar. I believe the drug companies could be mesmerized by the financial benefits from selling millions of vaccines. Other than lying about what’s going on, there’s no rhyme or reason for all of the hype given to this coronavirus flu.

God designed our bodies to combat diseases, and they do quite well when left alone. But it’s just all too easy to make millions of dollars scaring people into getting a flu shot by just giving a strain a name like “SARS” or “coronavirus” and mentioning “pandemic.” Then the fear sets in.

Now the Governor of California just declared a state of emergency because of just one death attributed to the coronavirus. Yet last year thousands of Californians died from the flu and not one peep from the Gov’s office.

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease with 10 million new cases last year killing 1.45 million people. Why is that not catching any publicity when the numbers are far, far worse? So who is choosing what we should worry about?

You would almost think the media have to have an ongoing reason to blame something on President Trump. They’ve tried Climate Change, Brexit, Russia collusion and Ukraine and they’ve all fizzled into nothing.

But whether the coronavirus is political or it’s big Pharma trying to sell more flu shots, a lot of lying is going on. And if Satan is getting ready to take over the earth post-Rapture, we’re definitely watching him ramp-up!

“You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” – John 8:44

If you do get the coronavirus flu, 80% of the cases are what you would call mild flu and you should recover quickly. And of the other 20%, only those who are really, really old and really, really sick and in poor health are in danger of exiting this mortal world.

  • Sam · March 12, 2020 at 7:12 pm

“At least now Rafa will be free to visit Washington DC in April with the King and Queen of Spain.”

That’s pretty funny. I guess he doesn’t have much excuse for not showing up now, does he? 😉

Concerning the coronavirus, I think it’s healthy to exercise caution, but not paranoia. I was reading a news article yesterday, and it stated that the coronavirus seems to be more serious than the flu, but not nearly as deadly as Ebola, SARS, and MERS. So, it’s something to take seriously, but sadly, there seems to be so much fear-mongering going on. In fact, one medical expert says that he’s now seeing an epidemic of coronavirus *anxiety*. 😛 Well, that seems to be about the size of it.

As you mentioned in your post, most people aren’t in grave danger. Even if you start to show symptoms of the coronavirus, if you’re reasonably healthy, within about 14 days you should recover. It’s vulnerable people, as you said, with compromised immune systems who have to watch out for it. Many years ago, my elderly mom (who had a compromised immune system) got the flu (sadly, she caught it from me), and it caused her to have a massive stroke. 🙁 Anyway, she did recover from it mostly, though, but it took several months. So, it’s extremely important to protect vulnerable individuals from the coronavirus.

While I do think politics and money are playing a part in this hysteria, I think it’s also just plain fear and panic that’s so common to us humans. We fear what we can’t control. It’s easier to become paranoid than to use logic. So, I believe many officials are thinking, “Better to err on the side of caution.” Yes, many are overreacting, but I can understand it. Of course, the irresponsible media are only making things worse–they love fear and panic, because it rakes in a ton of dough (i.e., more viewers) and furthers their agendas. 🙁

Wow, interesting (and shocking) stat about tuberculosis. I had no idea. Good question–why aren’t we hearing anything about *that* in the news? Sadly, when hysteria takes over, logic and reason seem to go right out the window.

In regard to tennis, six weeks away isn’t really that bad. I still believe that the French Open will be played, and I don’t see the Olympics being canceled. But I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. I suspect, though, that this coronavirus crisis will die down quicker than most people think.

  • Scoop Malinowski · March 12, 2020 at 7:58 pm

Sam, it’s crazy how they are pumping up this story. It’s all a media hype blockbuster 24 7 just like the other stories the media chose to oversaturate for an agenda – Trayvon, Duke Lacrosse, Tawana Brawley, OJ Nicole, Nick Sandmann, etc. This one is a biggie, the next presidential election is at stake and it’s very possible this is all just a big scam to wreck Trump’s roaring economy. It’s a shame tennis has to fall victim to this but it will bounce back and I expect the excitement and interest for the first tournaments after this storm or show passes will be massive.

  • Scoop Malinowski · March 12, 2020 at 8:01 pm

We will continue to cover tennis on different levels and share Biofiles. I hear several players are training at IMG to stay sharp. May go over there and do a load of Biofiles. Hopefully someone will get the idea to stage some special exhibitions for players, I would love to see a mixed event, two men and two women team comp. Now would be the perfect time to run something like that.

How easy it is to create a hoax. Shaquile Oneal reveals Stevie Wonder is not blind. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrvIq6M9HrI

  • Sam · March 13, 2020 at 6:40 pm

“Sam, it’s crazy how they are pumping up this story.”

    Scoop,

Ever heard the saying, “Never let a good tragedy go to waste”?? 🙂

Oh, and these lines from Don Henley’s “Dirty Laundry” ring so true as well:

    “We got the bubble-headed
    Bleached blonde,
    Comes on at five.
She can tell you ’bout the plane crash
With a gleam in her eye.
IT”S INTERESTING WHEN PEOPLE DIE.” 😉

Also, in terms of the general population, I think one reason that many people are so afraid of Covid-19 can be summed up in this proverb: “Better the devil you know than the devil you don’t.” At this point, Covid-19 is the devil most people don’t know.

“it’s very possible this is all just a big scam to wreck Trump’s roaring economy.”

Well, the good news is that scams can often backfire.

“It’s a shame tennis has to fall victim to this but it will bounce back and I expect the excitement and interest for the first tournaments after this storm or show passes will be massive.”

    You’re probably right.

I’ll check out your Stevie Wonder leak. If that’s a hoax, wow, what a bombshell.

  • Sam · March 13, 2020 at 6:42 pm

Oops, I mean “Stevie Wonder link,” not “leak.” LOL. 🙂

  • Doug Day · March 13, 2020 at 6:43 pm

Thanks for stating the obvious here Scoop. A bio threat is accomplishing everything anti-Trumpers dream of. One man was mocked for singling out China as the big threat. Everyone else was with Nike. Stinks to high heaven.

  • Scoop Malinowski · March 13, 2020 at 6:57 pm

Darn right lies and fraud often backfire, that’s why the liars and fraudsters are so afraid of the truth getting out. Some people just never stop with the BS conniving. It’s unfortunate dishonesty and fake news are so prevalent in the world. Yes, Shaq dropped the bombshell that Stevie Wonder can see, saw him and said, “What’s up Shaq? What’s up big dog?” Here is the video of Shaq telling the story on live TV. No way did he fabricate this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrvIq6M9HrI

  • Scoop Malinowski · March 13, 2020 at 7:00 pm

Doug yes there is a strong motive for the Deep state to fabricate a fake scare or release a bio weapon to wreck Trump’s roaring economy. Certain people will stop at nothing to try to take Trump out. Fake Russian hoax, fake impeachment BS, now this. Let’s hope the virus is just a flu on mass media steroids and it soon passes and tennis and normal life resumes soon. I miss pro tennis already.

  • Scoop Malinowski · March 13, 2020 at 7:03 pm

It’s scary that these fraudsters could deceive everyone for decades that Stevie Wonder is blind when really he is not blind. The blind gimmick must have generated extra billions in profits for the music industry. Makes you wonder about what really is true and how much of what we are told is fraud. I have another truth bomb: Muhammad Ali won the title on a fixed fight and the rematch with Sonny Liston was also a fixed fight. Muhammad Ali was installed as world heavyweight champion on two fixed fights. FACTS. There is so much false fraud in our world it’s scary.

  • Sam · March 13, 2020 at 9:18 pm

OK, I just watched the Stevie Wonder clip. Didn’t realize it was so short, or else I would’ve watched it earlier.

One person wrote this comment underneath the video:

“Lionel Richie, Anthony Anderson, and now Shaq is telling this story. Damn.”

Interesting. And this video reveals even more:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdS2tZCrYD4

So, add Elton John to the list as well.

As for the possible theories here:

    1) Shaq was joking.

No, he didn’t seem to be joking in the video.

    2) Shaq was lying.

No, that wouldn’t make much sense.

    3) Shaq was exaggerating or misinterpreting what happened.

    Very unlikely.

    4) Stevie Wonder is partially blind, but not completely blind.

    That’s possible.

    5) Stevie Wonder isn’t blind at all.

    That’s very possible.

Why would this group of celebrities be saying this stuff if it’s all just a joke? Joking about blindness isn’t cool or funny.

After watching these videos, I think the most logical conclusion is that Wonder can indeed see normally, just like virtually everybody else.

So, he’s been using blindness all these years just to get attention and win sympathy???

    Wow. 😛

  • Sam · March 13, 2020 at 9:38 pm

    https://www.theodysseyonline.com/stevie-wonder-not-blind

  • Scoop Malinowski · March 13, 2020 at 11:05 pm

And it’s a huge marketing and selling point. It got Wonder a million times more media attention and hype. If he was not faked blind he’d be just another dime a dozen singer. It’s genius idea and execution by the hoaxsters. Now as I asked, just how many other hoaxes like this have been perpetrated on us through the centuries by hoaxsters? Countless probably. Have to wonder about Ray Charles too now 🙂 Hopefully pro tennis will not try to fabricate a fake bind tennis player 🙂

  • Scoop Malinowski · March 13, 2020 at 11:09 pm

Sam I did see that video with McCartney before and it’s very provocative. Only a deranged brainwashed fool would argue and insist Wonder is blind after seeing these two evidences.

  • Michael in the UK · March 14, 2020 at 1:12 pm

This Is the most unedifying thread I have ever read on this forum.
This virus is not “just” flu, it is a new virus, highly contagious, for which humans have no immunity and no vaccine.
I would humbly suggest you take time to read some of the reports from medical staff in northern Italy. It is absolutely awful with conditions effectively requiring battlefield like triage.

Read about the measures being taken by other countries around the world in an attempt to reduce the impact of the virus.

You truly do yourselves no favours at all with this ludicrous conspiracy theory nonsense.

There is a super clever American guy, Felix Salmon, look him up on social media. He does a very good weekly newsletter on business, the economy, and related social matters.

He said this about the virus in the most recent edition:

The Chinese government, through inaction, allowed COVID-19 to grow to the degree that global infections were inevitable.
Subsequent Chinese actions, however, were decisive and effective.

South Korea has also been effective in combating the coronavirus and has managed to do so through “openness and transparency” rather than lockdowns.

Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte has locked down the entire country, imposing severe restrictions on travel and shuttering all stores except groceries and pharmacies.

Donald Trump, by contrast, sent markets into a series of tailspins by talking about the virus as a political attack rather than as an epidemiological emergency. His plan for minimizing the domestic spread of COVID-19 is notable mainly for its nonexistence.
    (End)

In due course I look forward to professional tennis around the world resuming and to this blog covering it in its usual excellent and unique way.

I send best wishes to everyone who writes the blog and who comments on it. Truly we are living through exceptional and for some of us, now or later, very dark times.

    Michael in the UK.

  • Scoop Malinowski · March 14, 2020 at 1:57 pm

Michael you are putting a lot of trust in the fake news anti Trump media. We’ll see how this plays out. A true epidemic. Or another concerted attack on Trump by deep state forces who want their power back. And their crimes and treason and corruption to be covered up.

  • Michael in the UK · March 14, 2020 at 2:15 pm

    Scoop,

Scientists around the world have warned for at least a decade or two that a pandemic was very likely at some point in the future. This is what is happening now.

The virus started in a food market in Wuhan, China. An animal virus, probably in a bat, jumped the species barrier into humans. Since then the virus has spread rapidly across the world reaching Europe and now the USA and pretty much every country in the world.

This could have happened while Barack Obama was president of the USA, or George Bush, etc. It would have been better if it had started in China say 10 years ago because at that point the country was not so hugely powerful economically, and travel links et cetera were not as extensive or well used as they are now. The whole world has become much more global in the last 10 years and I’m sure you know that already.

It really is just a matter of chance that this pandemic is happening now while Donald Trump is president of the USA.

Not fake news, not a conspiracy, not the cunning plan of some unseen evil genius.

I think that’s really all I want to say about this Now.

  • catherine · March 14, 2020 at 2:43 pm

Michael, I’m just coming back here to say how thoughtful I think your views are, and correct.

Otherwise, I can only express my sadness that T-P has descended to the level of this thread and I really regret that I can’t post on it any longer. It was a different kind of tennis site and one I enjoyed reading and commenting on. I can’t say that this is true any longer and I would not want my name associated with Scoop’s views. In fact I find them shocking. You and I both live in a country where the word ‘liberal’ is not an insult, whatever our politics, and I’m glad of that.

Scoop’s not alone – I’ve just finished a book by Andrew Marantz – ‘Anti Social – how online extremists broke America’ and it explained a lot to me.

The site Match Call Migrants, which Hartt posts on, is a more civilised place so maybe I’ll go there, if anywhere.

All my good wishes to you.

  • Michael In the UK · March 14, 2020 at 3:04 pm

    Catherine,

Thank you for your kind words. I will have a look at Match call migrants.
If you would be happy for me to have some kind of contact with you to discuss tennis, please find me on twitter, I am mpscomms. If you can look me up I can DM you with an email address, only if you wish of course.
    Best wishes to you too.
    M.

Michael – I’m not on twitter but maybe we can get in touch sometime. Thanks anyway. C.

  • Scoop Malinowski · March 14, 2020 at 5:24 pm

Michael you have parroted exactly what the fake news media has told you for the last several weeks. It may be true it may not be. ANyone with an open mind should be suspicious that this has happened suddenly right in the middle of an election year to crash Trump’s roaring economy. The media blowing it way out of proportion compared to the virus when Obama was president. I don’t trust the fake news media. You are entitled to. Everyone is entitled to their beliefs and opinions. Not sure why some people want to control mine. I don’t care to control yours.

  • Scoop Malinowski · March 14, 2020 at 5:27 pm

Catherine, you have no idea what it’s like to live in USA now and how obscenely vicious and hateful the fake news media is towards our President. It has been this way since he announced his campaign. It’s sickening and evil and I don’t accept it. I have Trump’s back and will fight for him. I’m a patriot for my country and my president. I will literally stand up and fight for what I believe in.

  • catherine · March 14, 2020 at 5:46 pm

Scoop – this site was called Tennis-Prose but it seems to have ceased to have anything to do with tennis.

You’re entitled to your views, yes, but surely a sports site is not the place to discuss them. Perhaps T-P has had its day and should be shut down. All good things come to an end.

  • Scoop Malinowski · March 14, 2020 at 6:43 pm

Catherine, tennis does not exist now because of a virus or flu or unleashed bio terror weapon to crash a president’s roaring economy. This is MY site and I do it my way. If you don’t like it, that’s your choice. Dan has not paid the hosting fee for over a half year after many requests so it my site now until he pays up if he pays up. The site will continue regardless of this latest political controversy I promise you that. Tennis is very important part of our lives but it’s not the most important. The future of a nation and who controls it is more important.

  • Jon King · March 14, 2020 at 8:13 pm

Ha, I think Scoop is actually kidding around, I doubt any sane person could be that gullible!

My pops did business with Trump when he was in NY-NJ 40 years ago, same 2 bit conman he is now. Would lie about the weather for no reason. Back then Trump was a very radical liberal though…he pushed abortion cause he hated wearing protection, hated religious people, laughed at the military, thought the working man was crap. He still does believe those things of course, but now he learned it pays more for him and his goofy kids to tell the working guys what they want to hear.

I guarantee Trump wakes up every day and laughs at all the suckers who support him. He must be laughing that he can crap on them everyday, give their financial futures to his big money buddies, and they still wear those very ugly hats for him!

Trump will be nothing more than a silly poop stain on history in 20 years, people will look back and laugh at his Presidency…you know, like we laugh now that people actually used to pay for a pet rock! No one will really care though, pretty much everyone in the future will just hope to forget he even existed…like skinny jeans!

Anyway, I think Scoop must be trolling, kind of stirring up stuff for fun. I highly doubt he is stupid enough to actually fall for a transparent con like Don the Conman has run his entire life.

  • Scoop Malinowski · March 14, 2020 at 11:43 pm

No Jon I believe in Trump. I did a book interviewing over 50 people who had close encounters with him. Even Mike Tyson loves him and said he supports him and votes for him. Tyson knows Trump as well as just about anyone. Sure he may have shystered some people in business, a lot of business people do business for their advantage. But there was nothing out of the ordinary or super sinister or we would know about it. The media has been demonizing and hitlerizing Trump since day one and it’s sickening how biased and hateful the media has been to him. It has backfired though and his public support only grows greater, his rallies are huge events of positivity and excitement. Though the damn fake news media tries to mistortray them as white supremacist events. Truly sickening and they will pay for it.

“It’s scary that these fraudsters could deceive everyone for decades that Stevie Wonder is blind when really he is not blind.”

Do you think all the top execs knew?

You may have also heard that Laura Branigan was told to lie about her age and say she was born in 1957 instead of 1952. She did so, lying about her age her whole career. In fact, when she passed away at age 52, even her obituary said she was 47!!

She obviously lacked self-confidence. The proper response would’ve been: “No, I won’t lie about my age. I’m comfortable with who I am. If you need me to do that, I’ll go elsewhere.”

“The blind gimmick must have generated extra billions in profits for the music industry.”

    If so, that’s really sick.

    “Makes you wonder”

    No pun intended? 😉

“about what really is true and how much of what we are told is fraud.”

Yeah, nowadays, it’s totally normal to question just about everything.

“I have another truth bomb: Muhammad Ali won the title on a fixed fight and the rematch with Sonny Liston was also a fixed fight. Muhammad Ali was installed as world heavyweight champion on two fixed fights. FACTS.

Interesting–I know almost nothing about boxing. Why did they fix those Ali fights?

“There is so much false fraud in our world it’s scary.”

A lot of genuine fraud too. 😉

“And it’s a huge marketing and selling point. It got Wonder a million times more media attention and hype.
If he was not faked blind he’d be just another dime a dozen singer.”

If at first you don’t succeed, try pretending you’re blind. Isn’t he lovely? 😛

“It’s genius idea and execution by the hoaxsters.”

    Yes, it is.

“Now as I asked, just how many other hoaxes like this have been perpetrated on us through the centuries by hoaxsters? Countless probably.”

    I’m sure quite a few.

“Have to wonder about Ray Charles too now 🙂 ”

I’ve certainly heard of Ray Charles, but until looking him up, I didn’t realize he was blind. Well, hopefully he wasn’t pulling anything on us.

“Hopefully pro tennis will not try to fabricate a fake bind tennis player 🙂”

LOL. Well, would that be any worse than those 2 middle-aged frauds currently playing on the WTA tour??? Oops, maybe I shouldn’t go there . . . 😉

“Sam I did see that video with McCartney before and it’s very provocative. Only a deranged brainwashed fool would argue and insist Wonder is blind after seeing these two evidences.”

Well, sadly, there are plenty of people who would. On the Web site Quora, there’s this question: “Is Stevie Wonder really blind?” And 95% of the answers say “Yes”!! 😛 There just aren’t that many people out there who can think independently and challenge what they’ve been told their whole lives. They’re just too naive and gullible to ever question anything.

As Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen once put it:

“The majority is never right. Never, I tell you! That’s one of these lies in society that no free and intelligent man can ever help rebelling against. Who are the people that make up the biggest proportion of the population — the intelligent ones or the fools? I think we can agree it’s the fools, no matter where you go in this world, it’s the fools that form the overwhelming majority.”

  • Sam · March 15, 2020 at 2:37 am

“Michael you have parroted exactly what the fake news media has told you for the last several weeks.”

    Unfortunately, most people do.

“Anyone with an open mind should be suspicious that this has happened suddenly right in the middle of an election year to crash Trump’s roaring economy.”

Well, this article is pretty telling:

    https://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2020/03/08/dr-francis-boyle-bioterrorism.aspx

Also, the line “Oh, that’s just a crazy conspiracy theory!” is the laziest argument in the book. It’s right up there with “bigot,” “racist,” “sexist,” and “homophobe.” 😛

Of course, not all conspiracy theories are true. However, people who are *continually* accusing others of buying into “crazy” conspiracy theories seem to be unable to construct coherent, logical arguments of their own. Because they have no logical weapons, they have to try to shut others down. As the saying goes:

“If you can’t beat ’em, call ’em crazy!” 🙂

Anyway, I’ve learned never to get in discussions with people who pull stuff like that. Mark Twain said it best:

“Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.”
    😉

  • Sam · March 15, 2020 at 3:04 am

“No Jon I believe in Trump. I did a book interviewing over 50 people who had close encounters with him.”

Here’s the thing–so many people seem to have an unbalanced view of Trump. They merely focus on his flaws, but ignore all his good points.

Does Trump have a lot of flaws? Yes. Does he tell his share of lies? Yes. But he has a ton of admirable qualities too. For instance, he’s not afraid to call a spade a spade, and he’s the death knell to the spirit of political correctness. He definitely doesn’t seem to go around worrying about winning everyone’s approval.

Sadly, so many people are blinded by smooth-talking individuals–a.k.a. wolves in sheep’s clothing. But someone like Trump, who is loud and blunt and “in your face,” they take an immediate dislike to. They think that, because of his brusque exterior, he can’t possibly have any good qualities.

Well, that’s very unsophisticated, black-and-white thinking. Not everyone who seems nice and friendly is in fact so. Similarly, not everyone who seems like a jackass is in fact a bad apple.

Anyway, it’s too bad that so many people seem to lack sophistication and objectivity in their reasoning.

Sam. I know about the demonic aspects of the music industry. I will share more later. The best movie that exposes the satanic ways of it are the Brian depalma film the phantom of the paradise. Ali was deened a money maker pretty charisma talent. The champ Liston was a negative mafia hood who repulsed the public. Ali was like a wwf loudmouth cocky hulk Hogan villain hero morph. They installed him as champion and my guess is protected him.

  • Scoop Malinowski · March 15, 2020 at 4:59 pm

Harold I assure you 100% I am not Sam. Want to wager $10,000 on it mr big mouth? Put up or shut up.

  • Scoop Malinowski · March 15, 2020 at 6:11 pm

$25,000 Harold? Put up or shut up.

  • Sam · March 16, 2020 at 1:04 am

“Sam. I know about the demonic aspects of the music industry. I will share more later.”

    OK, please do.

“The best movie that exposes the satanic ways of it are the Brian depalma film the phantom of the paradise.”

    Interesting–hadn’t heard of that.

“Ali was deened a money maker pretty charisma talent. The champ Liston was a negative mafia hood who repulsed the public. Ali was like a wwf loudmouth cocky hulk Hogan villain hero morph. They installed him as champion and my guess is protected him.”

Thanks for the “scoop.” Terrible. Do a lot of boxing fans knows about this fraud?

    “Love the Henrik Ibsen reference.”

Thanks–yes, he hit it out of the park with that one.

“The strongest man in the world is he who stands most alone!”

    That’s a good one.

“The Williams sisters are suspects. For a variety of reasons. I stop there!”

    🙂

“Sam wins tennis-prose commenter of the month award.”

And I only worked for it 2 days out of the month!! Woo-hoo!!!

“Thank you Sam for keeping the site a happy place during the storm.”

No problem—and thanks, Scoop, for the award! Does that mean I’ll be seeing an autographed copy of your latest in my mailbox in a day or two?? 😉

“Harold I assure you 100% I am not Sam.”

That’s really funny he thinks that we’re the same person. Hey, we should take it as a compliment. As they say, great minds think alike!!! 🙂

You know, that’s actually a first for me. I’ve been posting on the Web for a very long time, but no one’s ever confounded me with someone else before. Hey, new experiences can be fun. 😉

Speaking of tennis, I think it’s funny how some folks are talking as if tennis is going to be canceled forever. Many think it’s unrealistic that we’ll see any matches at all before September. Well, I think that’s a bit extreme. In fact, I’d be very surprised if grass season didn’t start at the normal time.

I definitely feel for the lower-ranked players, though, who really need the income.

I have a friend from boxing media who’s father was major music industry exec. He once told me “the corruption in the music industry makes boxing corruption look like a children’s sandbox.” Pop music today is littered with occult and satanic symbolism, it’s totally corrupt degnerate filth designed to corrupt the youth. I know major rock figures, hung out, partied, been to their homes, heard them talk. Trust me, a lot of satan worshippers in the music industry.

Vast majority have no idea Ali was given the titles by two fixed fights. The media created the illusion he was the greatest of all time. That is what they want to believe. Think sheeple. A former top fighter who fought for the world title, told me that Chris Dundee told him both fights were fixed. No reason to lie. Now as far as how many of Ali’s fights or his knowledge of any of the fixing I have no information about.

Surprised no exos have been announced. Would be so nice to see a mini tournament or mini Hopman Cup type event held in Key Biscayne right about now. Many players are training in Florida.

Yes Sam please send you address to my email scoop.malinowski@yahoo.com and happy to send you a book.

  • Scoop Malinowski · March 16, 2020 at 10:13 am

BTW this same boxing media friend went to private high school with one Tony Godsick in NYC. And boy did he have some interesting stories about the agent of Federer, Gauff, Zverev, etc. And trust me, he would not like them repeated.

“I have a friend from boxing media who’s father was major music industry exec. He once told me ‘the corruption in the music industry makes boxing corruption look like a children’s sandbox.'”

    Wow.

“Pop music today is littered with occult and satanic symbolism, it’s totally corrupt degnerate filth designed to corrupt the youth. I know major rock figures, hung out, partied, been to their homes, heard them talk. Trust me, a lot of satan worshippers in the music industry.”

    That’s pretty scary.

“Vast majority have no idea Ali was given the titles by two fixed fights.”

    Then I guess they just think you’re a “crazy” conspiracy-theorist. 😉

“Now as far as how many of Ali’s fights or his knowledge of any of the fixing I have no information about.”

Oh, really—Ali may not have even known about the fixing himself?

“Surprised no exos have been announced. Would be so nice to see a mini tournament or mini Hopman Cup type event held in Key Biscayne right about now. Many players are training in Florida.”

Well, there probably will be some announced eventually.

“Yes Sam please send you address to my email scoop.malinowski@yahoo.com and happy to send you a book.”

Thanks, Scoop! I was just kidding, though, about expecting a free copy. I wouldn’t presume on you like that. 😉 And your book definitely sounds worth reading. Unfortunately, I already have a such a backlog of books I’ve been planning to read for a while now. Maybe one day I’ll actually get to them. 🙂

“BTW this same boxing media friend went to private high school with one Tony Godsick in NYC. And boy did he have some interesting stories about the agent of Federer, Gauff, Zverev, etc. And trust me, he would not like them repeated.”

Sounds like some fodder for “Facing Tony” perhaps? 😉

Speaking of corruption, I heard from someone who’s very experienced at identifying transgenders that they’re everywhere in society today–politics, sports, films, music . . . you name it.

By the way, did your friend Harold ever pony up? 🙂

  • Scoop Malinowski · March 18, 2020 at 9:50 am

Sam, No, Harold has vanished like the invisible man. How dare he question my judgement 🙂 He learned he was as wrong and ran for the hills. Probably won’t show his mug around here ever again. Godsick’s behavior to one poor student in particular would trigger outrage. I’m outraged about learning about it. If I was in that school he’d have been knocked out. I can’t tell if Ali knew, he may have. Frankly I’m not sure how great Ali really was or if he was choreographed to look great by opponents playing soft. For decades I was sure Ali was authentic. But what I have learned in recent years about boxing I now question everything. With Mayweather and Deontay Wilder the fixers didn’t do a very good job, it became very obvious. Canelo Alvarez is another suspect. He generates huge profits. So they have the resources to buy every opponent for the career high payday. It was projected in a court case against Canelo’s old manager that Canelo and Oscar De La Hoya project to earn $400m EACH over the next ten years if Canelo keeps winning. So you know he’s going to keep winning. Pop music industry is just all degenerate filth now. No songs have positive inspiring energy anymore. It’s all about glorifying sex drugs and rock n roll. Love ballads seem to have become illegal.

Jon,Andrew Ouch worry about your own toxic narcissism better known as identity politics. A virus is asking us to focus on what matters. We get it..your a really GOOD. person. Now might we relax the tacit cramdown polarizing sports and accede to the chance there’s someone across the net who’s above an insect because they love their country as it is? Not a chance.
Hey Scoop.. heard the one about Calif.renaming the San Andreas fault? Trumps Fault.

  • Scoop Malinowski · March 19, 2020 at 10:03 am

Doug I re-read your comment four times and still can’t figure out what you are trying to say! It’s all good though, coherent or incoherent, all tennis fans are welcome here.

  • Doug Day · March 19, 2020 at 2:52 pm

Oops- The editor I needed wasn’t there last night when the SJW elitists started sliming you on here Scoop. It got to me. You do seen to enjoy smashing their short balls away. Lets not forget how 2 years ago Tennys Sangren when backed into the same corner we’re in quoted the tennis scribe David Foster Wallace: “There is no such thing as not worshipping. Everybody worships. The only choice we get is what to worship.”
    Drill down on that.

  • Scoop Malinowski · March 19, 2020 at 5:15 pm

Doug, nice Sandgren quotation, the man is a free thinker. Wish we had more free thinkers out there. Too many sheep.
