Everyone in the world has seen the viral Coldplay concert where the CEO was caught on camera enjoying the show with an employee/mistress. The gentleman Mr. Baron, CEO of something called Astronomer, might be more famous than Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams right now.
What’s not nearly as known as the Coldplay concert candid camera faux pas is there were a few similar televised incidents which impacted the tennis world, on a much smaller scale of course.
A former ATP champion player told me about a couple of famous ATP infidelities… (A certain top player from South Africa) had some random chick and was watching a night session match not aware of camera catching him live on TV, so his girlfriend back home caught him like that because she was watching the tennis live on TV.”
Then a certain Brazilian doubles specialist also got himself caught in the same broadcasting snafu… “The Brazilian had a similar thing at a player party in Hamburg. He was dancing like crazy with some chick, not aware he was being filmed by the ATP weekly show. Girlfriend back in Brazil saw the show.”
If only the ATP World Tour could figure a way to maximize the marketability of these situations like the Coldplay concert, which obviously has received priceless marketing and promotional value at the expense of the now world famous romantic couple who learned the hard way how one second on a TV screen can translate into global fame or infamy.
