Alberto Ramos Vinolas Retires

Alberto Ramos Vinolas has retired from professional at age 37.

The Spanish lefthander who turned pro in 2007, won four ATP singles titles and reached no. 17 in the world in 2017. His final match record is 281-333.

He scored some notable wins in his career including a Shanghai upset of Roger Federer in 2015. He also reached the Monte Carlo final in 2017, a loss to 9-time champ Rafael Nadal.

Ramos Vinolas achieved wins vs Cilic, Pouille, F Gonzalez, F Lopez, Ferrer, Nishikori, Blake, Janowicz, Monaco, Tabilo, Norrie, and Gasquet and over $11.1m in career prize money.

His best Grand Slam result was QF at 2016 Roland Garros and 3R at AO, Wimbledon and 2R at US Open.

    I remember and confirmed he played against Alcaraz in Carlos’ first ATP match and gave his young contryman all he could handle.

    Definitely a good player to watch with a unique style and athleticism. Played all the greats and beat a few.
