The greatest analyst in tennis today is Andre Agassi. When the former world no. 1, eight-time Grand Slam title winner and 1996 Olympic gold medalist talks about tennis, you would be very wise to listen and take notes.
A couple of weeks ago in Newport, Rhode Island during the Infosys Hall of Fame Championships, Agassi was on hand and discussed a range of topics including why he believes Djokovic is the mentally strongest champion in ATP history…
“The (best) serve and mental are the clearest to define. Mentally when Novak (Djokovic) makes up his mind that he’s going to lock down – or when he makes up his mind that he’s sick and tired of this match being played on your terms, and he’s going to go up a level, you see him use his speed – defensively, locked down, mentally, epically, and then you see him being able to recognize those nuances and intricacies… is a beautiful thing. And I don’t think anybody has ever done it better than him.”
