2026 Tennis Wish List

Alejandro Fokina Davidovich: To figure out how to win that elusive first ATP and gain the respect of Spain Davis Cup captain David Ferrer.

Su-Wei Hsieh: Another year of contending for Grand Slam doubles titles at age 39 and 40.

Naomi Osaka: To play mixed doubles with Tsitsipas.

Stefanos Tsitsipas: To take a leave of absence from being a philosopher and dedicate full energies to getting his mojo back.

Yibing Wu and Qinwen Zheng: The two talented Chinese singers join forces to reprise the 80s duet smash hit “I Knew You Were Waiting For Me” by Aretha Franklin and George Michael.

George Michael Biofile interview

Taylor Fritz: Hire Pete Sampras as co-coach to learn how to get to net more and volley successfully.

Jannik Sinner: No more positive drug tests and the ability to say some interesting, original sentences this year.

Crandon Park Key Biscayne: To host the Nitto NEXT GEN Finals for the next five years.

Nick Kyrgios: To play a full season at a level that suits his abilities, which would forever silence all his critics and haters.

Iga Swiatek: To pull a Carlos and get rid of that long time handler, so she can blossom and mature into her own person and player.

Sebi Korda: To invent a new move like his dad’s scissor kick or ex coach Stepanek’s “worm” which would likely elevate him into the elite pantheon of ATP top ten.

Joao Fonseca: A decrease in media hype and over promotion until after he reaches his first Grand Slam final.

Coco Gauff: Somebody, anybody who can help repair her broken forehand and serve.

Andy Murray: A second shot at coaching any player in the top 50.

Patrick Mouratoglou: A 15th shot at coaching any marquee player for business and self promotional purposes.

Nike: A new designer with originality, or just give up and retro the old Agassi, Sampras, McEnroe and Courier designs.

Tennis Channel: To show more college and ATP Challenger matches instead of pickleball.

To add to your list . . .

Novak Djokovic: One last hurrah! 😎

Sam, it does not qualify as a wish, he’s going to have plenty of hurrahs this year and next year and perhaps as he hinted, beyond.

I want Anisimova to win a singles slam. I want Cobolli to make the top 10. Brooksby, Arnaldi & Munar to make the top 20 and, yeah, Fokina winning a title would be great.

You may be the only human to have interviewed both Wham! and BJ Penn. lol Did you actually interview George Michael or was it edited together from previous interviews???

I had one shot to Biofile George Michael at the Tyson vs Bruno rematch at MGM Arena in Las Vegas 1995. George Michael was there ringside but after it was over I was not able to track him down. I did the Biofile by collecting quotes and stories I read and saw him say. Wish we could have done a Biofile though, he was the true king of pop IMO. This year I’d like to see Hsieh win another Slam and be top five, Djokovic win one or two Slams. Tien make a final and Kozlov reach top 25. Also like to see Jimmy Arias broadcast more matches.

Sam, it does not qualify as a wish, he’s going to have plenty of hurrahs this year and next year and perhaps as he hinted, beyond.

Scoop, I’ll settle for a single big hurrah, like a final Grand Slam title. πŸŽ‰ But if not that, then I at least hope he puts his heart into all his performances.

Djokovic giving 100 percent of himself in his matches is automatic. This AO is a very important one for him, he needs to make a statement after a very good but also substandard 2025.

This tournament will likely set the tone for Djokovic’s entire year.

I guess Venus cured herself of Sjogrens, the phantom disease only she was afflicted by.

Given his entire career of fakery, maybe Mr. Venus can now find a way to reinvent himself. πŸ˜‰

Sam Yes I agree. He has to make a big statement in Melbourne because the general perception is his ceiling is now major SF, he can’t get through Carlos and Sinner. I think he is full of belief and highly motivated to bust that perception. And he is playing with the edge, like the ball swat that missed the kid by a meter and would have been a default, last night vs Botic.

You are not talking about Michael Venus )
