Taking A Look At All That Federer Has Accomplished

It goes without saying that Roger Federer is already one of the greatest, if not the greatest tennis players to grace us with his presence. The Swiss giant has had a career like no other and even though he is late in his 30s and is close to retiring, he keeps showing us that age is just a number as he is still among the top-ranked players.

And since everybody says that you should give your idol the flowers while they are still here, we wanted to take a look at everything that this man has managed to accomplish. We’ll be naming some of his biggest achievements on and off the court. Let’s check them out.

Influences Many Industries

Roger lifted the sport of tennis and managed to influence many industries. One of the most surprising entries here is the online casino industry. How exactly did he reach casino sites? Some research has shown that tennis fans are also open to the idea of playing casino games.

Considering the fact that Roger Federer is arguably the most popular face in the sport, many game providers started supplying every reputable online casino site NetBet with games that have him as the main theme. Each of these games has proven to be loved by tennis fans as they feature HD graphics and have very unique gameplay.

Philanthropy

Apart from being a mighty force on the tennis court, Roger also made sure that he acts as a role model to many people around the world. He is very well-known for his philanthropy and will to help those that are in need. In 2003, he established the Roger Federer Foundation which helps disadvantaged children and helps them gain access to education and sport.

Acts like these are what made him the second most respected and admired person in the world in 2011, right behind the great Nelson Mandela. Not only that, but he also got a few streets in Germany and Switzerland named after him. In Germany, the Roger-Federer-Allee is located in Halle, while the city of Biel, Switzerland, has the 1 Allée Roger Federer.

Switzerland’s Most Recognizable Person

Thanks to his major influence, Roger was ranked 1st as the most recognizable person in Switzerland in 2016. He came out in front of Albert Einstein and the country’s national hero – William Tell. Not only that, but the number of votes showed that he is way ahead of these two respected individuals.

His massive popularity and respect are why everyone would love to see Roger Federer retire by organizing an unforgettable event.

Grand Slam Wins

One of his biggest achievements in his professional life is the fact that he managed to win 20 Grand Slams, which is an all-time record tied with Rafael Nadal. Not only that, but Federer has spent a total of 310 weeks at the top of the ATP. 237 out of those 310 weeks were consecutive, which is truly a mind-blowing feat. In 2018, he became the oldest tennis player to be ranked first on the ATP list. He was 36 at the time.

Speaking of the Grand Slam titles, let’s take a look at what he managed to do. Roger won the Australian Open on 6 occasions (2004, 2006, 2007, 2010, 2017, and 2018). He was crowned as champion in the French Open in 2009 and also won the US Open 5 consecutive times from 2004-2008. His biggest career achievement is the fact that he managed to win Wimbledon 8 times. The latest one was in 2017 when he beat MarinCilic in the final.

Nobody did it better than Roger Federer. In the history of sport, the case can be made that nobody personifies the essence of a “champion” more than Roger Federer.
