Serena Williams came out of retirement or semi retirement, or wherever she is now, to make some irresponsible and false statement in a CNN interview.
Williams, who last played at the 2021 Italian Open in June (retired at 3-3 to Aliaksandra Sasnovich), told Christine Amanpour that if she did what Alexander Zverev did last week in Acapulco (banged his racquet menacingly to intimidate the chair umpire) she would be in jail.
That’s absurdly false. Williams, currently ranked 237 in the world, threatened to murder a female Japanese official at the 2009 US Open on live, international TV and was allowed to get away with that death threat and possible anti-Asian hate crime… Williams finished the match (she was later fined a hefty $175,000).
For Williams to make such a false and wreckless comparison is dangerous because it is fake news and it’s also divisive during a time the nation and the world needs unity and compassion.
This negative message of Williams will anger and adversely influence many who listened to it and it will perpetuate the falsehood there is an inherent systemic bias against blacks. Again, Serena Williams threatened to murder a lineswoman during the US Open and she not only was not dragged away by police and thrown in a jail cell, she finished her match and collected her six figures in prize money.
Shame on Serena Williams for saying something that she knows is completely fake news false. And shame on the mainstream tennis media wimps for not challenging her ridiculous statements.

Do we know that Serena’s objections were race-based tho? Or was it gender-based? Or rather just a general “i always get unfair treatment” generally?

Probably a pre planned PR job with pre scripted questions to promote the blm agenda and keep a fading star relevant Everything is scripted today,there are no spontaneous moments in the media anymore. There’s some marketing value in victimhood too.

Serena so much wants to be a BLM victim that she fabricated a fake imaginary police brutality crime against herself so she can market herself some free media attention. Disgusting.
