WASHINGTON (April 6, 2018) — Americans who dominated the Miami Open last week, as well as past champions and top ten stars have committed early to compete in this summer’s Citi Open® Tennis Tournament, July 28-August 5, 2018.

The 50th edition of Washington’s summer tennis tradition will feature 2018 Miami Open champions John Isner (World No. 9 and three-time tournament finalist), Sloane Stephens (World No. 9 and 2015 Citi Open champion), and Mike and Bob Bryan (World No. 7 and four-time tournament champions). They will be joined by 2015 Citi Open champion Kei Nishikori, as well as World No. 8 and 2017 Citi Open finalist Kevin Anderson and World No. 10 David Goffin.

This early roster of players joins previously announced World No. 2 and 2018 Australian Open champion Caroline Wozniacki.

“We are extremely proud of John, Sloane and the Bryan Brothers as they captured hard fought titles in Miami last week. It’s such a thrill to watch these four achieve success on and off the court, as they have been faithful supporters and participants of the Washington Tournament from the start of their careers,” said Keely O’Brien, Tournament Director. “It’s an honor to welcome back four past champions – Sloane, Bob, Mike and Kei, in addition to past finalists, John and Kevin Anderson.”

The Tournament will launch a 48-hour flash sale until Sunday, April 8, at 12 a.m. In addition to access to single-session tickets, there are exclusive Citi cardmember ticket promotions available. Visit www.citiopentennis.com or the hotline at 202-721-9500 to take advantage of this promotional window.

The tournament has been Washington, D.C.’s premier tennis event since 1969 and benefits the Washington Tennis & Education Foundation (WTEF), the tournament’s non-profit owner and beneficiary. The organization provides underserved children in the D.C.-area with a safe environment to learn critical life skills both on and off the courts through academic and athletic enrichment.

Founded by Donald Dell and John Harris, the Washington tournament celebrates its 50th edition in 2018. The Citi Open Tennis Tournament is one of only 13 elite ATP World Tour 500-level events worldwide and the only one held in the United States. The tournament also features a WTA International Tournament, which provides fans the opportunity to watch simultaneous competitions of both world-class men’s and women’s tennis throughout the nine-day event. It is one of only five U.S. tournaments that include both men’s and women’s fields. Main draw matches of the tournament will be broadcast starting Monday, July 30, on Tennis Channel.
