NY Post Hates Novak Djokovic

By Scoop Malinowski

A sportswriter by the name of Johnny Oleksinski penned the most venomous, hateful article about Novak Djokovic in the January 6, 2022 edition of the New York Post.

The headline was “Whiny star the one who’s at fault here”

Here are a few outtakes from the gruesomely nasty hit piece…

“Perpetually annoying tennis world no. 1 Novak Djokovic infuriated the entire country of Australia…”

“Just another day in the life of the entitled, whiny, rich, loathsome Novak Djokovic.”

“…His only underlying condition is total dominance. And yet the frown-faced millionaire is clamoring for a doctor’s note like a little boy. Such childish petulance is typical of Djokovic who started his career famed for uncontrolled outbursts and retiring early in matches.”

“He could win 50 Grand Slams – but he’s still flippin’ Novak Djokovic.”

“Nobody likes this guy! When he retired from his first round match against Stan Wawrinka at the 2019 US Open, the crowd booed.”

“The real Djokovic is a pathetic man who complains and attempts to manipulate politicians to bend to his selfish whims in order to pet his insatiable ego.”

Had enough of this rubbish? I’ll spare you the rest.

Of course Djokovic is far from perfect, like John McEnroe, Andre Agassi, Mike Tyson, Serena Williams, Jimmy Connors, and many others, but it’s disturbing and alarming that a major respected newspaper like the New York Post would allow this kind of garbage article onto one of its pages.

Sure Djokovic has made many mistakes in the heat of battle throughout his career, but he’s generally well liked by most of the tennis media and fans in America and worldwide. In Australia one fan sent me a picture of a banner on a bridge supporting the Serbian superstar “Stand Strong like Novax Djokovic.” The loudest ovations Djokovic gets on the ATP World Tour have been in Australia, where he has won nine times.

Novak lost the US Open final last year, attempting to win the Grand Slam and major title no. 21, but the overwhelming crowd support for him in the losing effort reduced him to tears on court. Djokovic is a unique cat, and each year more and more the world certainly has warmed to and come to appreciate his strong personality and champion character. And of course his phenomenal tennis skills and fighting spirit.

Perhaps Mr. Oleksinski has some kind of mental health issues and he should get some kind of therapy and anger management to control his embarrassing, unhealthy hatred of the greatest tennis champion in the history of the sport. Because his shamefully biased, negative writing style isn’t fit to published anywhere, let alone the New York Post.

Shame on the New York Post for wasting paper and ink on such a worthless article, their product is typically so much better than this. Remember the wisdom of Malcolm X who distrusted the media so much he once stated, “The media is the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent look guilty and the guilty look innocent.”

So when the media tries to tell you one thing about Novak Djokovic, better off believing the complete opposite.

This whole fiasco is showing the entire tennis establishment is anti Djokovic. Only the outsiders like Sandgren, Kyrgios, Connors, myself, dare express any support for Djokovic. All the espn talkers, all the big name players have shown they are anti Djokovic, which is very interesting. Now it’s clear.

The best surprise of this whole Novak ordeal is Nick Kyrgios has switched allegiances from against to supporting Novak Djokovic… kyrgios: “he’s gonna be angry,if he’s allowed to play he’s gonna be a tough motherfucker to beat.[…] how many backhands you think he will miss if he is pissed at the crowds?[…] it will be one of the most watched Oz Open ever if he plays and i’ll be like, go Novak, go Novak.”

Scoop, I was glad to hear about Kyrgios, but do you think he’s being genuine? John Isner had some decent things to say as well.

  • Scoop Malinowski · January 10, 2022 at 7:55 am

Sam, for sure Isner and Kyrgios are authentic in their support for Novak. I sense Kyrgios has matured greatly in the last year and is not afraid to show his massive respect for Djokovic and his petty insults were very immature and uncalled for. It’s a shame Federer and Nadal and all the other big figures of the tennis estabishment continue taking their cheap shots at Djokovic because they know that’s what their masters want.

I simply do not understand the press’ anti-Djokovic sentiment. I always understood why he was never going to be the fan favorite Federer and Nadal were/are: (i) fans had already picked their guy by 2007 when Djokovic first started winning big titles and (ii) Federer and Nadal had this obvious hook – most beautiful and effortless looking tennis (modern McEnroe) versus relentless effort (modern Connors) – whereas Djokovic was this sort of precision machine that was remarkable, but not exactly inspiring (modern Lendl). But those are reasons why a player isn’t your favorite player. They don’t explain this venom.

Djokovic has a likable personality. He’s a decent quote. He seems generous (i.e., he has pushed for more comp to lower ranked players). He doesn’t resent tennis the way Agassi, Tomic and Kyrgios have (at various points in their careers). While this particular vax issue lends itself to journalists taking a partisan angle that has nothing to do with tennis, the reality is that a surprising number of reporters felt this way about Djokovic long before covid. And I don’t get why.

Bill, it’s an intriguing topic. The anti white media hates strong, great white inspiring figures especially those who are family oriented and are Catholic Christian who wear a Cross. There could be some anti Christ element working here. Most of the mainstream media is anti God, anti Christ, anti white. And Djokovic is all those and he’s anti establishment, he has a lot of power and influence to inspire and unite trouble for the globalists. Even one of the former owners of this site, who has since departed, was very anti Djokovic even back to ten years ago, he was always taking cheap shots and denigrating him. I always fought him on it and of course it blew up and now he’s gone and I own the site 100 percent. This media and establishment hatred of Djokovic is a lot more than just a vaccine shot. It’s like a crucifixion of Jesus Christ again, and Donald Trump again. These rabid militant political activist jackals will not stop until they chase Djokovic from Melbourne and then Paris and London and New York. But they are exposing themselves and their evil bloodthirst. And if they push too hard they may run the risk of blowing the whole charade wide open.

  • Scoop Malinowski · January 11, 2022 at 11:17 am

Federer and Nadal are establishment puppets who are under total control. Trump, Djokovic are not and the totalitarian tyrants can’t tolerate that. They can’t tolerate any such threats who could crash their house of cards.

“I am not up to what we see today in almost all modern countries, in our so-called democratic civilisation. More than politics, they seem like corporate interests to me… we lost true democracy many years ago. Today business matters more, partisan interest.” – Novak Djokovic

I don’t recall Michael Chang being loathed by the press. Simona Halep and Juan Martin Del Potro are also known to be devout christians and get very favorable press treatment. Did your former partner hate Djokovic before he started winning?

  • Scoop Malinowski · January 11, 2022 at 5:44 pm

Bill, the media definitely didn’t like Chang’s openly praising The Lord and his faith. And that was two decades ago, it’s gotten worse. Halep and Delpo are background players, they don’t have near the visibility influence and power Djokovic does. Yes, the more Djokovic won and became a top force, the more cheap shots were taken I noticed. The Klitschko brothers endured the same treatment though not because of religion, more so because they were very powerful dominant supreme heavyweight champions. HBO espn and Showtime would even bypass televising several of their fights because they knew they were going to win and they didn’t want to broadcast it because seeing whites beating up black hwts did not fit their agenda. Then when they won the fake news media would say the Klitschkos were just lucky it was a weak era. But if the Klitschko were two black brothers from Broolyn, the fake news media would have loved them and made films and books about them.

  • Scoop Malinowski · January 11, 2022 at 5:53 pm

Bill, Chang winning French Open was another incredible miracle. It was worthy of a movie or book but the entertainment and media industry ignored the story. Also Chang did not get a lot of major sponsors in America either after that win as he deserved. Corporate America did not embrace him and his religion and ethnicity had somethig to do with it. If Gauff would have won a GS at 17, she would have got much more preferential treatment from corporate America and the media than Chang did.
