Novak had to thwart another guy playing the best match of his life today and came up with his A game when it was needed. Everything looks very good for Djokovic to contend for this title. He’s overcoming adversity, handling pressure situations, Jelena looks fully engaged and supportive in the box, the kids are pumped up too. Safiullin is probably just happy to be where he is and will run out of gas like Zheng did today. Any easy cruise match would be ideal.

I thought for a few years that Karatsev and Safiullin had identical games and they almost do but Saffy showed some feathery touch against Fonseca.
