Greatest Sports Moment: “Probably winning my first round at French Open. (Why that one?) Because there were so many elements to the match. I’ve always wanted to do well at the French and I’ve never really had the game for the French. So I’ve qualified a few times but I haven’t been able to push past the first round. So it was just a good feeling. The court was slow, it was raining. And I was down, I was cramping. I won in four sets (d. Silva in 2006). I played Nadal in second round.”

Most Painful Moment: “All the losses.”

Favorite Tournament: “I like French, U.S. Open.”

Funny Tennis Memory: “Practicing with Agassi my first time at the U.S. Open in ’96 or ’97. I don’t think I had my badge yet. And I think I was 17. Got a U.S. Open wildcard. We were going to the stadium. I was lagging back and he was walking quick. He got in and they stopped me. And they wouldn’t let me in the stadium. I tried to call for him but nobody turned around. So once they got to the court, they lost me. And finally came back to me.”

Embarrassing Tennis Memory: “I don’t think I had one.”

Last Vacation: “Being at home (Newport Beach).”
