Laver Cup Getting Demolished By Tennis Fans
3 Comments · Posted by Scoop Malinowski in Articles, Scoop
Laver Cup was an attempted imitation of golf’s very popular successful showcase event Ryder Cup however it lacks the natural tensions, passions and inherent rivalries. The idea failed and should be totally changed /revised in order to survive.
The majority of tennis fans seem to agree that the Laver Cup is a sinking ship and desperately needs to be changed and revised in order to survive…
Myles David: “I need to talk to someone who actually really cares about Laver Cup lol.”
Fan: “Buse and Fery? I’m selling my tickets, this is the last time I ever buy seats to your events. This is a Laver Cup not some challenger in Portugal.”
Now that Bublik is participating in Laver Cup and getting a pay check, he’s changed his opinion of the event: “When I said it was an exhibition, I had a different mindset because I had never participated in the Laver Cup.”
Pav Gill: “I think Federer needs to change something for sure, I can’t see the Laver Cup being sustainable in the next few years. He really needs to bring the women into the event it will create a lot more excitement and fun. Format needs changing up too. When the Laver Cup was founded it stated one of its key purposes was to reach Tennis fans who may not see much elite level Tennis. They have some tickets on sale priced in excess of £750! In London where there’s already a heap of elite Tennis. It looks like we were lied to.”
Titi: “The Laver Cup is really dying.”
Yeticus Maximus Stackimus: “Maybe it’s just cause the Laver Cup kinda sucks. I thought it would be the Ryder Cup of tennis but it just hasn’t stuck.”

I completely skip it. When i see Laver Cup or any of these stupid other cups I skip it, don’t even check the scores either.

Feel the same way, it just looks and feels so stale and phony compared to real dogfight tennis in Challengers. The only people who like it are on the payroll. Don’t expect the McEnroes to hype it up at all on social media now that they are off the payroll.

Cory, every Laver Cup singles match has gone to a TB. How convenient.
