Kudla wonders if Djokovic is the greatest athlete ever

Denis Kudla extended Novak Djokovic to three very challenging sets at the recent Wimbledon Championships and came away with a newfound appreciation and admiration for the 20 Grand Slam title winner.
“I think Novak deserves to be the greatest of all time. He is the greatest of all time. He does things nobody is willing to do,” said Kudla, who lost today at the Newport Hall of Fame Championships to 20 year old American Jenson Brooksby in three sets. “I don’t think he’s just the greatest of all time in tennis. He could be the greatest athlete of all time.”
Kudla, age 28, is now ranked 104 in the world. His previous best ranking was no. 53. In his career he has won 55 matches against 100 losses. The Virginia native has not yet won an ATP singles title but he has earned over $3.3m in prize money.

No. It would be arrogant to think he can win both. Too much travel too much time zone difference. Big chance to win 21 and separate from Fed Rafa. Indeed high praise from Kudla. Can’t think of a higher compliment for a champion.

The thing is, the “best of three” format isn’t Djokovic’s strength, so upsets are more likely to happen. And I can’t believe they did away with the “best of five” final. 😛
Anyway, obviously it’s his choice. He could win the whole thing, or he could crash out in the early rounds. Anything is possible. 😉
At least he won’t always wonder, “What if?”

Sam he’s unbeatable right now on any surface. He takes his breaks and is not playing a full schedule. I think he knows how to peak himself to be ready for when it really counts. He is he smartest, toughest player in history.

He should have skipped Olympics and focus on USO. However, I think he probably wanted to do something for his country. And there may have been pressure on him from Serbian people for appearing for Olympics.

Gaurang, he really wants that elusive gold medal and his confidence has never been greater. His clock is ticking. It’s a very bold, daring move. Fortune favors the bold, as they say.
