Interesting Sony Quotes Today

Maria Sharapova: “Yeah, I do (like vocal crowds). I like enthusiastic crowds. I think when people are energetic and supporting both players and you hear their support and energy, it always brings out the best in athletes no matter if it’s tennis or any other sport. I think Miami has nice crowds. It’s a bit of a Latin flavor, I would say, but yeah, it’s fun.”

Andy Murray: “I’d like to get to #2 this week. It would be nice but I’d rather focus on trying to win my matches…I think today was probably the best match for me. It was a tough, tough match (vs. Cilic).. I thought I played a solid match, not too many errors and was tough in the important points.”

Jelena Jankovic: “Overall, I wasn’t moving. I felt heavy on the court. I felt really tired and exhausted. I didn’t really have enough time to recover. I finished the match last night (vs. Vinci) at 11. I went to sleep at 1, by the time I came back to the hotel. Woke up early, had to play. So the schedule was tough. I played three hours last night. So today I wasn’t on the top of my game and I wasn’t playing the way I like to especially on a big occasion like playing the semifinals. But all the credit to Maria, she played very well and she was the better one today.”

Richard Gasquet: “I will try to play my best to try to win the semifinals.”

French journalist: “I can’t remember anything he just said, it was so uninteresting. But he’s playing fantastic tennis.”

I believe the French press gave Gasquet a lot of questions on his suspension when he returned so he’s probably keeping the press at arm’s length these days.
Koenig said he’s the shyest of any world class athlete he’s met.
