How Matt Ebden Hustled A Deal To Wear Uomo Sport

Matt Ebden with Steve Siebert in Houston.

Uomo Sport is one of the hot new high quality tennis attire brands based in Los Angeles, CA. Currently Uomo Sport sponsors hot shot American ranked no. 36 Jenson Brooksby and as of this week a second prominent player has been added to the Uomo team. Here’s the story about how a 2022 Australian Open doubles finalist and Uomo Sport collaborated…

Matt Ebden reached out to Uomo Sport in mid-March via Instagram…

Hi team,
Matt Ebden here, Australian professional tennis player.

Just reaching out in regards to apparel sponsorship. My deal with Neptune Athletics (previously Fila) is coming to an end next month and I am looking for a new apparel sponsor.

My other sponsors are Head, Luxilon, Bremont Watches, Global Tennis Professionals and NeuroTennis, and has been previously Fila and most recently Neptune. I am currently wearing the Adidas tennis shoe so an apparel company where I can wear my shoe of choice is working well at present.

If you had any interest, please let me know. We are looking for a small monetary deal for a minimum of 1-year or potentially more, and happy to include weekly or monthly Instagram/Facebook and Twitter advertising as part of the contract if you had any budget and were interested. I have approximately 87k followers on Instagram, about 21k on Twitter and another 5-10k on Facebook, all up close to 120k followers.

If interested you may find my social pages at:

Thank you for your consideration and please let me know if you have any interest. I work with a few agents free lancing but also realise it is sometimes easier to liaise directly so we self manage with alot of areas too.
I will be in Miami for the Miami Open next week, missed out on Indian Wells this year after making the finals in Australian Open doubles and then having our first baby. I play singles and doubles. Singles career high so far has been 39 and doubles current and career high ranking was 24 last month.

All the best,
Matt Ebden

“Matt loved the brand and reached out to us on Instagram.” said Uomo Sport founder and CEO Steve Siebert. “He’s a great guy and is very well liked and personable. He has a great look he’s like our doubles James Bond. He’s a big watch collector which we have in common. He has a lot of great ways he wants to help the brand. We want to try to create something for him that is different than other sponsors that is appropriate for his style, looks, and how he plays. He was in the doubles final of Australian Open 2022 and is the only doubles player that has really gotten our attention.”

So now Ebden is proudly wearing the stunning, high quality unique brand of Uomo Sport in Houston at the Fayez Sarofim and Company US Men’s Clay Court Championships doubles event. Ebden and partner Max Purcell are the top seeds and yesteray they defeated Steve Johnson and Sam Querrey 62 62.

The 34-year old Ebden is currently ranked 381 in singles, 39 in doubles. He has won four ATP doubles titles.
