Djokovic Hits Record Breaking 378 Weeks At No. 1

If you believe, as I do, that the world no. 1 ranking in tennis is the ultimate achievement, even above winning a Grand Slam title, then Novak Djokovic is now alone at the pinnacle of the racquet sport.

It’s more difficult to be the best in the world in tennis than it is to win a Grand Slam title. Need proof? Okay, just look at the giant list of players who won Grand Slam titles and then compare it to the small, limited and special and prestigious list of exceptional players who were ranked no. 1.

This week Novak Djokovic will hold the ATP no. 1 ranking for the 378th week, breaking the 377 mark of Steffi Graf.

So congratulations to the ultimate world champion of tennis Novak Djokovic for smashing this rare record and elevating the sport of tennis to new heights of excellence and supremacy.

In 30 years of observing, meeting and interviewing champions of all sports, the undisputed most overall impressive one for me is Novak Djokovic.

Tsitsipas quote there Steve, after the AO final. Never seen a better player than Djokovic. And we never will see one better either. Enjoy him while he’s still here.
