Carlos Alcaraz regained his status as the no. 1 young player as he decisively beat Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev today in the French Open final in five sets.
Having fallen behind Sinner over the last six months, Alcaraz regained his status. He was sensational lighting up Court Chatrier today, with his dazzling arsenal, speed of light movement and Mike Tyson knockout winners.
The 21 year old Spaniard has now won three different Grand Slam titles, French Open, Wimbledon and US Open.
Alcaraz prevailed 63 26 57 61 62. “Since I was a little kid finishing school running just to put the TV on to watch this tournament and now I’m lifting the trophy in front of all of you,” Alcaraz said. “It’s been unbelievable the support I receive. I feel like home.”
The Carlos vs Zverev head to head series is now level at 5-5. Zverev won the first clash in 2021 in Acapulco 63 61.
Zverev has now lost in two Grand Slam finals (US Open), both in five sets.

It might be too late for Gold Chains to fire his father. He shoulda kept Ferrer and told Daddy to hang back at home.

Steve, they tried Lendl, Ferrero, Ferrer but the father is one of the best coaches on earth – he coached his two sons to top 50 and top 5 with two totally different play styles. Maybe Goran can help him get over the hump.

Zverez’s problem is mental, he even conceded that in the press conference afterwards. Well, 0-2 in GS finals is hardly a pattern anyway. He’ll likely lift a 2000 pt. trophy or two.
Grass season upcoming (my favorite). What’s the latest on Kyrgios the king of grass? Also what is the timetable for Djokovic return?

Cory, It’s possible Zverev partially subconsciously tanked the last two sets, strange ending. Last I heard from an Aussie doubles player at Tallahassee Challenger is that Nick is done as an elite player, he’s way out of shape and only plays video games and eats and sleeps. But I saw a video of him hitting last week and he looked fit and sharp. Nobody can predict the future of Nick Kyrgios, hopefully he has a few last hurrahs left. Djokovic is hopeful he can play Wimbledon and with Roddick advising him to withdraw from the draw now, as the “right thing” to do, indicates the tennis deep state fears Novak playing Wimbledon.

Here is an interesting WTA prospect. 19 yr old Lan Mi just started playing ITF tournaments in Tunisia, won a few main draw upset the wta 258 and is now ranked 1008, plays for Cal Berkley, I’ve never seen a female player with such intensity and tenacity and will to win… see for yourself… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRYhsdzpEgI

Scoop, how would you personally advise Djokovic concerning playing Wimbledon?
Scoop Malinowski · June 11, 2024 at 8:29 pm
Sam, When he’s ready in a few weeks, If he can play a practice set and the knee feels fine, go for it.

Scoop, I feel the same way. 😎 This could be his last chance to make history at Wimbledon. Hope he gets some good advice.

Sam I think with each year of age, hard courts become more difficult and Wimbledon could be the best and last chance to get 25 which is a nicer closure total than 24.
