Alejandro Falla is an excellent tennis player, but he lacks confidence.
He should have won the match with Federer, when he saw the score close to win the match agains Federer, Falla frozed and his game changed to let Federer win.

He should believe more in himself, he could become the best Southamerican tennis player. Giraldo is also very good.

    Tennis in California.

Agree C.L. he might be too humble, too nice for his own good. Falla is very nice, very gentle soul. To be a top player you have to have a dimension that is of an arrogant ruthless killer at the proper times. Remember Jim Courier using the terminology of “stepping on the guy’s throat”, when you have the lead, you have to finish the job. Falla does not seem to have that kind of killer mentality. It might be the difference of #60 and top 10. Giraldo is a helluva player, I have seen some impressive wins from him, he is quick, hits the ball hard, tenacious. Tremendous win for him to beat Querrey.

Falla didn’t beat Querrey in DCup, Giraldo did.
