16 Year Old Andrew Johnson Winning At Savannah Challenger

USA Tennis has a hot prospect you probably never heard of. 16 year old Andrew Johnson of California, who was given a wildcard into Savannah Challenger qualies has seized on his big opportunity. Johnson knocked off Garret Johns in the first round in Savannah 76 64 and then Roberto Cid Subervi 62 76. Johns is currently ranked 275 in the world.
Johnson is ranked 909 in ATP and recently defeated world no. 331 Tyler Zink 76 76 last month at an ITF $25K in Las Vegas. In February, Johnson won a $15K title in Sunrise.
As an ITF Junior, Johnson is ranked 13 in the world.
I have not yet seen the 5-foot-8-inch marvel play yet but will tune in to his 1R Savannah main draw match vs 2 seed Nishesh Basavareddy. Johnson vs Basavareddy will be played today fourth match on court no. 3.
It’s been a while since a sixteen year old American has been making waves on the ATP Challenger level. Remember the name… Andrew Johnson.

26 51. I picked it up at 31 in the second. The kid does not miss. He has not missed a ball yet. For return hes out of the screen way back. Big crowd to see this match on court 3, more spectators than were at the Nishikori vs Smith match last night. Tennis fans love to see a teen dynamo challenge the grown men. Clearly Johnson was seen in qualies and is building a fan base.

Johnson plays like a smaller quicker better moving Tommy Paul.

Johnson ended up losing 57 in the third but it took a Herculean effort by Basavareddy to survive that match. And also some stall tactics. Andrew Johnson… remember this name, he is a real player and real fighter.
