I adore the International Tennis Hall of Fame and have attended the renowned venue for ten consecutive years with no plans to stop in the near future. It's a very special, inspiring, awe-inspiring place, in a beautiful setting. It actually gets better every year to visit the hallowed grounds of the Newport Hall of Fame on Bellevue and Memorial Avenues in the heart of one of America's most spectacular towns. Status:Â Former ATP pro from 1981-1992. Silver Medalist at the 1988 Olympics. Currently teaches tennis at Cunningham Park.
Date of birth:Â Aug. 3, 1960 in Springfield, Mass.
First tennis memory:Â Hitting a ball against the garage in my backyard at about the age of five with an old Jack Kramer racquet.

I think that second when you hit a ball perfectly, you get a sense of control, and to me, that's probably the thing that keeps me coming back. Earlier on, it was more about the competition … the idea of making your mark and moving up.
