I agree with you, Scoop, but my son’s 8 and he reads a book a week. He has to for school. It’s not Tolstoy, but he’s reading. And there are kids who by 12 have read all of Harry Potter. And by 8th grade, I know this well because I was a high school English teacher, you’ve usually read Catcher In The Rye, A Separate Peace and Lord of the Rings. When a 12 year old tells you he can’t remember the last book he’s read, he’s either not going to school, has a learning disability or it’s code for, I don’t give a crap about anything but tennis.

Did we go North Korea here? Censorship issues?

In any event, here is a little recent Johnny Mac podcast. Talks about the “young guys in tennis”

We’re not going into politics, we’re sticking to tennis Harold. Politics and religion divide, tennis brings us together. BTW Zane lost in QF at Orange Bowl, 63 61. Was told he couldn’t hurt the opponent with anything. It’s okay, QF of a 12s major is quite an accomplishment. He’s in the mix with the best in the world. Lots of time to keep improving and growing.
