Tennis Inspirations: “I have to work all the time. I have to work. The highlight of my career we will see when I finish if I get closer to a good ranking, if I stay like this. I can’t tell you now.”

Last Book Read: “I don’t remember exactly what. A book about dogs. Because I like the dogs. I was reading this one.”

Most Painful Moment: “When I get injured with the right wrist, I have to stop for six months. And left one – three months. And also at the end of the year 2008 I had surgery on my left knee. So this is painful.”

Favorite Tournaments: “There’s a lot of favorite tournaments. I play the Grand Slams is extremely glamorous, very, very good. But also any tournament I try to win. And I also like Acupulco.”

Closest Tennis Friends: “Italians because I’m Italian. But when I was working in Barcelona, so I have a lot of friends with the Spanish guys, like Almagro. And Montanes.”

I keep track of Fognini’s career. That match with Monfils in the darkness was great.
He’s also not the tallest guy on the tour but does pretty well. The Italians have three good guys right now with Seppi and Bolelli.

True Steve, that match vs. Monfils showed us what Fognini can do on the big stage in a big match. Fognini can play big time tennis especially on clay. Welcome to the site.

Fogging is the new GOAT. His wife is the hottest on tour.

That ending vs. Montanes is the absolute weirdest ending to a 5 setter I have ever seen. He seemed to be foot faulting on purpose! Then joking with the line judge. It looked like he all the sudden didn’t care about the match, yet still was pulverizing crazy winners. He looked disinterested. Then out of nowhere gets the break and holds serve to close it out. Then the crowd, half hated him and half loved, half gave him a standing ovation, the other half booed. Weirdest match of the decade. What a character though, tennis needs eccentric oddballs like Fog.

The Montanes match was highly entertaining. He’s very casual in the most critical parts of a match. I’ve only seen Sarmpras(in his early days) and Dolgopolov be that loose.

It really was a captivating adventure, one of the most unforgettable matches you will ever see. Dramatic like no other. Any first time tennis viewers would be become instant fans of the sport if they were lucky to catch that finale. True Steve, Fognini is super cool under pressure, it’s almost like he KNEW he could not lose to his friend Montanes. Wonder what they head to head on those two practice partners was before that match. I will check…

I second that, Harold. Foggy’s girlfriend is the hottest on tour. Ooh, la la.

That’s Mrs. Fog, they said they were married. Like her enthusiastic support too. Would like to see Mirka show some excitement sometimes too but maybe she’s seen a few too many matches.
