12239219_10206513180161519_5206756283052299679_oCasper Ruud the number one seed in the 18s and ITF No 5 in the world was second on court one and he straight setted an American I never heard of before Oliver Crawford. Ruud is very solid baseliner with all the shots - and he is the son of former ATP player Christian Ruud of Norway. A couple courts away - Nick's court - featured a hard hitting practice with a shirtless Andrey Rublev and Italian youngster Gianluigi Quinzi a lefty who hit a VERY VERY HEAVY ball. Quinzi (age 19) won junior Wimby two years ago and is now ranked in the 300s. Continue to read full article...

A Few Quirks in ATP Head to Heads

2708-161420Working on the "Facing Federer Nadal and Hewitt" series books several surprising quirky ATP head to head stats came to attention. For instance - Roger Federer is 8-0 vs Alejandro Falla but Rafael Nadal has never played Falla once in his career. Nadal has also never once played Yen-Hsun Lu. LLeyton Hewitt is about the identical age of Ivan Ljubicic but they only played once early in Ivan's career (won by Hewitt in three sets). Djokovic Says He “Handed” Federer The Win

abrafaart“I am not sure if it is 100 percent fair that we qualify for the World Tour Finals playing on grass, hard, clay and indoors, and since 2005, when I qualified [for the first time], it is already 11 years that every single time [it has been played] on indoor hard courts,” Rafael Nadal told the Daily Mail. Novak Djokovic: The Unsolvable Puzzle?

P1011208All the great minds of tennis tried but failed again to solve the puzzle of how to end the dominance of the mighty emperor of professional tennis Novak Djokovic. The records continue to be smashed by Djokovic - winning yesterday in Paris (over Andy Murray) was his 26th overall Masters Series title - and a ATP record sixth in a single season Continue to read full article...
