Julia Cohen is reading “Facing Federer”

I ran into WTA player Julia Cohen (currently ranked 202) at the TennisGoal Pro Shop in Bradenton, FL. I remember her for grinding out a memorable long three set win at US Open qualies last year under the lights, impressing us all with her amazing consistency, patience and fighting spirit.

Harrison goes down routinely to Cilic 63 64. Cilic is l5-4 on the year and at #29 and rising fast. His career high was #9 four years ago. Cilic has now won 20 in row vs. Americans since losing to Blake in Australia in 08 (stat via Greg Sharko). Cilic's l5 wins this year are the most on the ATP Tour, tied with Fognini.

Miracle at the Delray Beach Open by The Venetian

One of the greatest miracles in ATP history has occurred today at the Delray Beach Open. Alternate team Sekou Bangoura and Vahid Mirzadeh upset the number two team in the world Butorac/Klassen 75 36 l0-7 in the supertiebreaker.
Bangoura is 22, from Sarasota, FL and has never played an ATP level match before. Mirzadeh is 27, from Wellington and Florida State, and also has never won at ATP match before.
They signed up as alternates last week upon Mirzadeh's urging and got the call to play as alternates yesterday when Lu pulled out of the event with a neck injury.

Hewitt warmed up with doubles partner Chris Guccione for about an hour before the match on P court one.
Klahn is wearing Head attire, blue shirt, yellow shorts and white cap and red/white/blue head shoes. Hewitt has white shorts, blue top, white cap on forward not backwards, and white Yonex shoes. It's hot here at just after one in the early afternoon.
Klahn serves to open and makes Hewitt net a second serve, which is rare from Hewitt. Klahn hits two aces, one-love.
